SWINDON Sprockets are gearing up for their first home meeting of the season as they welcome Plymouth to the Abbey on Thursday.

The Curson Consulting Sprockets got their National Trophy campaign off to a dream start with a hard-fought away win at the Isle of Wight last week.

They will now look to pick up where they left off as they take on the Devils – and team boss Lee Kilby has called on his side to deliver another strong all-around team performance.

“It was a terrific team display last week,” Kilby said. “All the riders did their job and it was a great way to start the competition.

“It’s great to have our second fixture so close after this win. It will enable us to build up some momentum and as we’ve had no Robins fixture for a while, the meeting will hopefully capture the imagination of the Swindon supporters.

“In Steve Boxall and Lee Smart, the Plymouth team have riders who are very capable of racing The Abbey so we know it will be a tough, close contest for us.”

Swindon have drafted in showman Danny Ayres and Belle Vue racer Rob Shuttleworth to replace Zach Wajtknecht and David Mason, who are both in action for Lakeside in a re-arranged fixture with the Isle of Wight.

Entry is £12 for adults, £9 concessions. Under 16’s will be FREE. Discounted tickets can be purchased online prior to Thursday. Season ticket holders can use a meeting voucher and receive £5 cash back on entry.

SPROCKETS: Danny Ayres, David Wallinger, Dan Greenwood, Rob Shuttleworth, Darryl Ritchings, Layne Cupitt, Taylor Hampshire.

PLYMOUTH: Steve Boxall, Richard Andrews, Lee Smart, Callum Walker, Benji Compton, Robert Parker, Henry Atkins.
