WEPL Gloucestershire

Cirencester 58

Dumbleton 61-0

CIRENCESTER’S WEPL Gloucestershire campaign got off to the worst start possible when they were humiliated by Dumbleton at The Park on Saturday.

The hosts captain Gareth Williams elected to bat but soon regretted his decision as his team were bundled out for just 58 in 20 overs.

Only Jamie Jamieson-Black (15) and Alex Binnie (11 not out) reached double figures and there were five ducks in total.

First change bowler Tom Green did the major damage for the visitors as he finished with remarkable figures of three overs, five wickets, for seven runs.

Craig Baldwin also claimed three victims with Ross Martin the other bowler to take a wicket.

Dumbleton wasted no time in chasing down Cirencester’s below par total, knocking off the 59 runs required in less than 10 overs without losing a wicket.

Martin, who had opened the bowling for Dumbleton, also opened the batting, smashing a quick 39 not out.

He was ably supported by his opening partner Scott Tremain who also finished unbeaten on 13.

The Cirencester bowling attack did not fare any better than their batting comrades with opening bowlers Billy Brean and William Mason going round the park at seven and eight an over respectively.

Only Tom Fullalove provided any control, conceding just two runs in the same number of overs.
