ROOKIE golf pro from Marlborough, Ben Amor, has secured sponsorship from recycling and waste management business, The Hills Group.

Ben turned professional in February after an enviable amateur career which included being crowned County Champion of Champions at Woodhall Spa in 2016, winning the West of England Amateur Championship 2015, representing Great Britain and Ireland three times in the boys’ team against Europe and winning the Carris Trophy in 2013.

Amor has made a respectable start to his pro career, finishing 32nd and 20th in his first two events on the MENA (Middle East & North Africa) Tour.

Mike Hill, chief executive of The Hills Group and chairman Alan Pardoe, met up with Marlborough golfer Ben to wish him well before he rejoined the tour in the United Arab Emirates where he finished on one under par in the Ras Al Khaimah Classic for a share of 31st place.

He has since moved on to Thailand for the MahaSamutr Masters this week and then plays in the Mountain Creek Open and the Pattana Golf Championship, also in Thailand.

Mike Hill said: “Hills has a long association with Marlborough Golf Club and we are excited to be able to support Ben as he embarks on his promising golf career.”
