CIRENCESTER'S B team scored a fine victory at Broadway which was not as comprehensive as the 5-1 scoreline suggests given that all the matches bar one went down the 18th hole.
There were a number of highlights in the Cirencester win, not least Clive Gray's 100-yard bunker shot on the 11th to 6 feet which stopped dead. He and captain Kevin Young went on to win 2-up.
Pete Shepherd and Magnus Flett were three down with three to play, but won each of the last three holes on a trio of notoriously difficult greens to half their match, David Michaels posted birdies on 1 and 12 to help he and Nigel Curtis to a 2-up victory.
Other winning pairs were Duncan Barnes & Keith Hodgson (1 up) along with Jonathan Wells & Paul Jenkins (2&1), while Steve Springthorpe & Howard Jones earned a half.
