Spring Cup
THE 36-hole Spring Cup at South Cerney Golf Club, played over two days, was won by Mac Cannons with a two-under-par net score of 138, ahead of Ted Parrott (142) and former Cirencester cricketer Tony Frape (143).
The result was a reverse of the Winter Matchplay Knockout in which Ted beat Mac in the final.
April Medal
THE April Medal was played in temperatures more suited to January which may explain why only one golfer managed to break par.
In Division One, Danny McDougall, playing off 15, pipped Pete Chart (8) on countback after both finished with a net 73.
However, the stand-out round of the day saw Dave Buckley win Division Two with a net 67 off 21, while the consistent Bob Leggott was in second place on 72 (off 21).
Mixed Texas Scramble
THE mixed Texas Scramble was won with an impressive score of 58.8 by the team which contained the Ladies' captain Heather Whelan, the Seniors' captain, Dave Mitchell, Gerald Tucker and the star of the team, 14-year-old Fergus Hill, who eagled the par 5 18th without any help from his playing partners.
