TETBURY Town triumphed over Charfield in an entertaining 2-1 win for the GFA Junior Cup final.

The highly competitive final was played at Slimbridge’s Thornhill Park between two Stroud Division One rivals.

Charfield started the strongest with early threatening chances. Tetbury, however, weathered the storm and took the lead in the 31st minute courtesy of a Rich Jones strike.

After the break, Dan Price doubled Town’s lead in the 57th minute when converting a cross at the far post.

With Mark Evans’ men on their way to a cup victory, Charfield continued to fight and set up a tense final few minutes through Ben Hemming’s 83rd-minute finish.

Despite the late goal and referee Jake Holmes picking up an injury in the final few seconds, Tetbury Town were crowned Gloucestershire FA Junior Cup champions.
