CIRENCESTER ABC took two young boxers to Hockley in Essex over the weekend and both returned winners.

First up for the club was 12-year-old Jason Frayling (45kg) who won a unanimous points decision over L Crabb from the host club.

There was nothing between the two boys in the opening round but Frayling upped his game in the second and third rounds, catching his opponent with the cleaner punches and getting the better of the exchanges.

Ciren's experienced Thomas Varey was having his 31st bout and notched another victory, this time over Hockley's Ben Brook.

The Hockley boy had no answer to the Varey's relentless onslaught throughout all three rounds and this one was another unanimous points decision.

ABA coach Simon Knowles said: "Jason has won three out of three now and he beat a game little boy.

"Thomas was absolutely awesome in the way he dealt with his experienced opponent.

"To go into someone else's back garden and have two wins was absolutely brilliant – two good wins from two good kids.''

Cirencester ABC travel to Banbury on Friday where hot prospect Ethan Frayling is in action.

On Saturday, Cirencester have three boxers at the Western Counties Finals in Bristol – Lewis Varey (50-52kg), Jason Frayling (44-46kg) and Sammy Varey (33-35kg).
