M4 Karting Cirencester & District Div One
Intel FC 7
Lechlade 87 FC 1

THE M4 Karting Cirencester & District Division One championship is going to the last day of the season – May 6.

Long-time leaders The Beeches, who did not play on Saturday, were leapfrogged in the table when holders Intel beat Lechlade 7-1 to radically improve their goal difference.

The Beeches not only have to win their final game at home to Wheatsheaf, they have to win by at least seven clear goals to pip Intel on goal difference.

Swindon side Intel took their time to get on top of Saturday's opponents, the score being goalless at half-time.

Lechlade played well with some good passing football from the back and Jay Goddard had another fine game.

Lechlade had two good chances, one in the first half and one in the second, to take the lead, both from good individual skill, but the final shot was off target.

Early in the second half Intel scored twice in quick succession and made it 3-0 around the 70-minute mark.

Lechlade quickly pulled a goal back on a breakaway move through Jack Uzzell.

But from then on Intel ran riot and scored a further four goals to win 7-1, with John Horgan bagging four.
