RECENT wet weather has meant that only two of the five scheduled Gloucestershire & Somerset PGA fixtures in March have been able to be played and the two that have been completed have both been won by the same player.

Brickhampton Court professional Ross Langdon added a victory at Shirehampton Park to his win a fortnight earlier at Tall Pines as he was the only player to break par on the short but testing Bristol course.

The former South Cerney pro ended the day two strokes ahead of the trio of runners-up which consisted of G&S PGA chairman Andrew March (Brean), George Ryall (Burnham & Berrow) and Sherdons assistant Josh Davies.

Cirencester Golf club head pro Ed Goodwin shot a four-over par 74 for a tie for 12th place which meant he lost further ground to Total Triumph Order of Merit leader Giuseppe Licata, who was two shots better on 69.

The series ends with the Total Triumph Strokeplay Championship in early May.

Licata (captain) and Goodwin are members of the G&S PGA team which goes into battle against their Devon PGA counterparts over 36 holes at Filton Golf Club next Wednesday.

Licata leads Goodwin (Cirencester), Russ Berry (Broadway), Ashley Mansell (Clevedon), Paul Barrington (In Play Golf), Robin Goodey (Chipping Sodbury), Andrew March (Brean), Daryl Kelley (Filton), Scott Thompson (Mendip Spring) and Nick Ellis (Naunton Downs).
