TOM SVENSSON and Charlie Partridge, two final-year students at Cirencester College who have been selected for Great Britain Colleges Hockey, have both secured sponsorship from the Cirencester Round Table.

The Round Table were keen to take this opportunity to support two young students whose talents have been carefully nurtured through the Cirencester Hockey Club development programme that has already produced players competing at national age-group levels.

Both Tom and Charlie began playing hockey at the club from the age of eight and progressed through the ranks before playing for the first team at the age of 14, as well as participating in the England hockey programme, playing for the South West. Charlie is joint-leading top scorer at Cirencester, and Tom is a key member of National League side, Cheltenham.

Backing from the Round Table will help fund accommodation and travel costs for training camps and international fixtures, as well as paying for their GB kit.

Their first GB Colleges fixture is against England U18 on April 1, with further matches against Wales in May and Scotland in June.

Tom said: “Both Charlie and I are immensely grateful to Cirencester Round Table. Their support in helping us to follow our dream of securing international honours makes such a difference to us both."
