Stratford-upon-Avon Parkrun
NORTH Cotswold Tri & Run members descended on Stratford last Saturday to race the weekly parkrun. Leading the club home again was Andrew Evans, finishing second MV50 and 25th overall in a time of 21.48.
Next home was Marianne Badger (22.14) to finish third lady closely followed by Ann Hilary (22.37) for second FV35 and fifth lady.
She pipped Andy McCoombes in 22.39 to claim first place in his MV55 category, while Roger Day just missed his PB by one second but still finished second MV65 with a time of 24.43.
David Pyne, however, did set a new PB with a time of 24.56, while Nikki Hitchcock, running in her very first 5K race, recorded 25.10, closely followed by Emma McCance who ran a solid 25.45.
Winter Railway Ultra Marathon – 28 miles
CLAIRE Harrison travelled to Telford to run her first ever ultra marathon as part of her preparation for the Brathay 10 marathons in 10 days challenge in May.
She crossed the line of the 28-mile trail event in a very respectable 4:07.34 to finish third lady and seventh overall.
