Southern Counties North

High Wycombe 57

Stow 12

ONCE again Stow took the field with many changes for an important away game against High Wycombe and for the first 25 minutes played like strangers to each other.

They conceded three early tries – two to the dangerous home right wing who added a fourth try in the second half.

As soon as Stow started to recognise each other after 30 minutes, they started to put pressure on the home pack and scored under the posts through captain James Holmes.

Just on half-time they added another try from Lewis Chapman, after good scrum pressure to take the score to 31-12.

Stow needed to score first in the second half, but it was Wycombe who came through a period of messy play to score seven points after 50 minutes. This was followed by Stow kicking upfield only to see the talented wing beat two tackles and score again in the corner.

High Wycombe added two further tries in the last 10 minutes to run out deserved winners by 57-12.

Next week Stow entertain league leaders Marlow.
