IT HAS been a week of landmarks at the racing stables of Nigel Twiston-Davies and Fergal O'Brien in Naunton, Gloucestershire.

Twiston-Davies passed the £1m prize money barrier on Friday and his next door neighbour O'Brien hit 50 winners in a season for the first time 24 hours earlier when Petite Power won for the yard at Huntingdon.

To top up the celebrations Nigel's son Sam, who lives at Naunton, rode his 100th winner of the campaign at Kempton when Captain Buck's triumphed for his boss Paul Nicholls.

He quickly set off on his second hundred when the exciting prospect Politologue won on the same card for Nicholls and high-profile owner John Hales.

Hales even went so far as to compare Politologue to his best ever horse One Man, the Queen Mother Champion Chaser and dual scorer in the King George at Kempton.

Sam Twiston-Davies said: "It's amazing considering I had more than seven weeks out with injury.

"Paul's horses have been flying, Dr (Richard) Newland has been a massive help and Nige (Twiston-Davies) is having his best season.

"It has been down to a combination of all three. I've been a very lucky boy."

Petite Power took O'Brien to a career-best 50th winner of the campaign in the novices' limited handicap chase at Huntingdon.

O'Brien said: "That was the 50th of the season so that is a monkey off our back.

"He is a lovely horse and is very straightforward and he always tries his hardest."
