Local point-to-pointing
THE Heythrop Hunt Club Point to Point at Cocklebarrow, which was postponed on Sunday due to frost, has been quickly rescheduled.
The Harrison, James & Hardie-sponsored programme will now be run this Sunday (January 29). Entries will stand, the first race is at 12 noon, and gates open at 10am.
The course had passed an inspection 24 hours before racing and clerk of the course Nick Phillips was confident of going ahead as planned but he revealed: "The temperature dropped on Sunday to -4 which was lower than the -1 forecast and we had to postppone."
