North Cotswold Tri & Run

THERE were age-group podium positions for all North Cotswold Tri and Run club members competing at the weekend.

Linda Franks 5-mile – Cheltenham

CHRIS KRZYWIEC finished third senior man and fifth overall in an excellent new PB time of 27.55.

Team-mate Dennis Walmsley toughed it out for a well-deserved time of 29.23 giving him second MV50 and an overall position of 10th.

Then it was Chris's other half, Kate Krzywiec's turn to PB with a superb time of 32.15, taking nearly a minute of her previous best. This gave her second FV40 and fifth lady overall.

Roger Day completed the quartet's successes in a determined run to claim third MV65 in 40.18.

At the recent Gloucestershire County Road Race series presentations for 2016, both Chris and Kate Krzywiec took third place honours in the overall categories.

Enigma Winter Marathon – Milton Keynes

STEVE EDWARDS ran his first marathon of 2017 and 762nd in total when finishing first MV50 in a time of 3:18.29 at the Enigma Winter Marathon in Milton Keynes.

Steve was narrowly edged out of a podium place in the final half-mile sprint to the line.

He wasn't too disappointed, however, as he's still on target to achieve two world records this year – if all goes to plan.

He's bidding to become the first person ever to record 700 sub-3hr 30min marathon finishes which he hopes to achieve around May time and also set a new 800 marathons world record in the fastest average finishing time, which could happen at the new Birmingham International Marathon in October.
