CIRENCESTER TOWN’S joint leading scorer this season, Ross Langworthy, has left the club as new boss Charlie Griffin’s revolution continues at the Corinium Stadium.

Langworthy has scored six goals – along with captain Mat Liddiard – but he has increasingly been used from the bench and was missing from the matchday squad for Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at St. Neots Town.

Langworthy joined the club at the start of the 2015/16 season after making a habit of scoring crucial goals against them for Shortwood United.

It has been something of a revolving door on the Cirencester Town changing room since Griffin took over at the start of October as he tries to find the right blend to lift his side away from the relegation zone of the Southern Premier.

The latest (and eighth) new arrival to join Griffin’s current squad is Dan Demkiv, who plays in a similar wide attacking role to Langworthy.

Ross announced on his Twitter account this evening: “Absolutely gutted to be leaving @CirenTownFC. Great club & top bunch of lads. Best wishes for the season, will be keeping an eye on results!”
