Malmesbury Vics 0
Chippenham Park 0
MALMESBURY VICS played out a very uneventful 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at the Flying Monk against Division One strugglers Chippenham Park.
The very heavy pitch was not conducive to playing free-flowing football, and neither side carved out any clear-cut chances in a dire game.
The Vics created a couple of half chances but a Ryan Tyrell free kick was tamely hit straight at visiting keeper Sam Thomson, while a left-footed effort from centre forward Ed Wilkins also resulted in a routine save.
Both defences looked solid and a draw was probably a fair result in a game which will not live long in the memory.
Third-placed Vics travel to Hengrove Athletic – a side two places above them – on Saturday.
Kev Bridgeman's team will welcome back both Shane Bumphrey and Krystian Hext from suspension, along with Sam Parker who was unavailable for the Chippenham Park game.
Malmesbury Vics: Langley, Baker, Cook, Jones, Brown, Peare, Fernandez, Hughes, Wilkins, Tyrell, Russell. Subs: Packer, Collins, Wicks.
MoM: George Peare.
