Stratton Youth U18s 10

Highworth U18s 1

THE Stratton U18s cruised into the semi-final of the league cup with a convincing 10-1 home win over Highworth.

After consecutive losses in their last two games Stratton were back on form with some fast, flowing football.

Conor Wadey and Tom Pudifoot both scored hat-tricks and there were goals from Sam Brewster (2), Jack Sheridan and James Thomas.

Manager Rob Hill had to take the whistle, and was grateful to both sets of players for making his job easy.

ALFIE COOK rattled in four goals but was pipped for the MoM by centre back Matthew Price.

Matthew covered every blade of grass, was dominant in the air, made important tackles, communicated with those around him, and kept his head when the side conceded several quick goals in a poor spell.

Kieran Collingwood was the other scorer.

STUART KESSON'S U11s played across town at Cirencester. A close encounter saw an even contest.

Matt Boucher's side were home to Lambourn and put up another good performance with goals from Jayden Stratford (3), Olly Potter (3), Holly Giles and George Day.

The U9s were at Royal Wootton Bassett where Tom Foley and Jaden Mullis were on target while Freddie Whitehead was MoM.

Stratton U8s played well for 95 per cent of the match at home to Northleach, but a short loss of concentration in the last quarter gifted the opposition three quick goals. Again the U8s displayed some excellent passing and all the goals were the result of well worked play. The team continue to develop and with a full squad available for the match it enabled all team members to gain important match experience.

Goals were scored by Sam Potter, Louis Kingsbury and Finley Stratford.

This weekend is a cup fixture against the same opposition meaning it should be another close and entertaining game.
