Hellenic League Div One West
Purton 4
Milton Utd 0
PURTON extended their unbeaten run in the league to seven matches on Saturday when overcoming Milton United at the Red House.
The visitors were able to field only 10 players due to a virus that had hit their club.
Despite the victory the Purton management team were unimpressed by their side's display in the opening 20 minutes and soon replaced a defender with their striker Matt Bennett.
Purton's leading scorer had been named as sub again due to a late arrival because of work commitments.
It was Bennett who netted with a 20-yard drive to give Purton a 1-0 lead on 37 minutes.
Marcus Hall – in his first game for months – scored the second with a close-range tap-in in the 41st minute The second half saw Purton add two more goals through Joe Hiscock (52 min) and Nathan Gambling (80min) which completed the scoring.
Purton used two other subs – Mike Lees and Steve Davies in the second half of the game.
Despite only having 10 men Milton Utd gave their all in the circumstances.
