GLOUCESTERSHIRE Cricket will host eight fixtures, including a semi-final at next summer’s ICC Women’s World Cup.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Gloucestershire Cricket has been awarded a coveted last four fixture as part of a fixture list that will include eight games in total, from June 26 - July 18 2017.

It has also been confirmed that England will play a fixture in Bristol during the competition.

Tickets for the semi-final, which will take place on Tuesday, July 18, will go on general sale on Monday, November 28 at 10am.

So far, England, Australia, New Zealand and West Indies have all qualified for the eight-team single-league tournament.

The top four sides will progress from the group stages to the semi-finals, which are slated for Bristol and Derby, before Lord’s hosts the final on July 23.

The remaining tickets for the final, plus tickets for the semi-finals, will go on sale at 10am on Monday, November 28 at icc-cricket.com/tickets.

Heather Knight, England’s captain, hopes fans turn out in their thousands to support her team’s quest for a fourth trophy.

“To be in a home World Cup is brilliant,” said Knight, whose side won 21 out of 26 matches this year.

“Home support is massive.  It will add to the pressure a bit but we are learning to embrace that and thrive on it.

“You dream about playing at Lord’s and in a World Cup Final – there will be no better feeling.

“We’d love to see people come out and watch us play, not just here at Lord’s if we make the final but in those group games.

“We are playing at all four of the venues so we’d love to have people support us there and hopefully see us go on a run and make it to Lord’s.”

More than 5,500 tickets have already been snapped up for the Lord’s final, beating previous attendance records.
