IT’S been some time since the Cotswolds was covered with snow but that hasn’t stopped a Bibury schoolboy from being selected for the England Alpine Squad.

The talented skier in question is Max Pini, just 14 and a pupil at Cheltenham College.

Max is currently trained by Ambition Racing and his goal for the coming 2016/2017 season is to improve his fitness and mobility levels in order to achieve better race results.

Snowsport England chief executive and British Ski and Snowboard Board director Tim Fawke said: “Max is one of our athletes who has followed the talent pathway from his early years of ski racing and is well on track to achieve his potential.”

Max represented Great Britain at the Trofeu Borrufa 2016 children's international races held in Andorra in February.

GB (249 points) took a podium place in third behind only winners Italy (390) and Spain (258).

Max is hoping to spend as much time as possible training and racing on-snow this winter, before a busy summer of ski racing in the UK.
