Cotswold District Cricket Association

Annual Awards

THE annual presentation evening of the Cotswold District Cricket Association took place recently at Cirencester Cricket Club where attendees celebrated the successes of junior and senior men and women cricketers in the local CDCA competitions, writes Roger Gillespie.

CDCA Chairman Phil Carter thanked sponsors SweetFuels (men’s Saturday leagues), Moore Allen & Innocent (women’s league), D&J Sports (junior competitions) as well as John and Penny Light (Lighthouse evening T20 competition) for their ongoing support.

The senior men’s SweetFuels Saturday league title was won, for the first time in their history, by Oaksey CC who have now been promoted to the Gloucestershire County Cricket League.

Division Two and Three winners were Poulton 2nd XI and Fairford 2nd XI respectively.

The highly successful, pioneering Moore Allen & Innocent women’s league was won by Poulton CC.

Clubs are reminded that the AGM will be held on Tuesday, November 1 (7.30pm) at Cirencester Cricket Club where planning for next season will begin again in earnest.
