Wiltshire Junior Cup
Oaksey 2
Di United 1
THE UNBEATEN visitors who top the Salisbury & District League were favourites to win this first round tie and showed for the first 20 minutes that’s what they had in mind.
Great defending by to Kyle Fitzsimons and Tom Hainsworth kept the Salisbury side at bay until on 13 minutes a fantastic cross found Luke Arnold whose ten yard low header beat home keeper Harrie Wilson.
Oaksey heads went down a bit but the team begin to realise that in fact they are playing even when 1-0 down.
Home manager Littler was ecstatic afterwards and was generous in his praise of all fourteen player particularly midfielder Sam Munton and the energetic captain Chris Brookes in this Oaksey’s first victory in the competition for five seasons.
