THE BIG news today came from Burnham where they won their first points of the season by beating near neighbours Ascot United by the odd goal in three.

Calvin Kalinga and Elliot Amadeau got the goals for the home side after Louie Gilpin had opened the scoring.

League leaders Thatcham Town increased their lead with a 3-2 win at home to mid-table Highworth Town.

Ashley Edenborough put the visitors two ahead before the interval.

Back came Thatcham with three second half goals including two in the last ten minutes. Two from Josh Helmore and one from James Tennant took the points.

Unbeaten and in Second place, Thame United, were held at home 1-1 by improving Ardley United.

Both goals were in the second half with Dan West for the home side, and within three minutes this was cancelled out by Troy Bryan.

Tuffley Rovers who started in third, and were playing in the County Cup today, and dropped to fourth as Flackwell Heath overtook them with a point at Longlevens AFC.

The visitors went ahead with goals from Jamie Essex and Ben Sturgess. Darren Defoe and Brad Martin got the home side level.

Royal Wootton Bassett dropped a place to sixth after a six goal thrashing at home to mid-table Bracknell Town.

Finding the net for the visitors were Terry Bohane with a brace, Jamie Mc - Clurg, Adam Cornell, George Short and Carl Davies.

Binfield moved up to fifth with a goalless draw at Lydney Town.

Henley Town moved up a place and dropped visitors Oxford City Nomads into the bottom two with a fine home win by the odd goal in three.

All of the goals were in the first half with the visitors opening the scoring through Micky McKieran. Goals from Michael Davies and Andrew Nunn then took the points.

Brackley Town Saints put five past visitors Highmoor-Ibis.

Finding the net were Lewis Baldwin and Matt Johnson, with a couple each, and Chris Jordan.

The visitors started and finished the scoring with goals from Anthony White and Dave Lingwood.
