Philip Cater was a two-time Bedford Bowl winner but fell short this time
THE FINAL of the Bedford Bowl between Norman Ashby and Philip Cater was played on Tuesday, October 11.
This was Philip's third appearance in the final, having won it on two previous occasions.
It was a very close contest. The maximum lead was never more than two shots up and the players had to go to the 19th tee before Norman finally won.
The final friendly match of the season was also played on the 11th against Long Ashton.
The seniors finished off in style winning six and two.
The successful pairs were David Starkey and his partner, David Harley & Paul Moffat, Jim Edwards & Andy Johnson and Les Bradley & John Dennis.
