THREE intrepid fundraisers completed their 15,000ft skydive in aid of the Darcy Ward Foundation on Saturday, October 8.

Mikey Brueford, Sophie Harris and John Stratford were supported by Jamie Harris and Julie Squires, and checked in at Skydive Buzz, Honiton early on Saturday morning, where they endured a long wait due to poor weather conditions.

It wasn’t until 2pm that they got the call to suit up for the 15,000ft dive, which took around 15 minutes to reach altitude.

Each of the trio enjoyed an exhilarating sixty seconds of free-fall, and sent a big a “Thank you” to all their sponsors and donors on behalf of Darcy's Foundation.

“The whole thing was an amazing experience. Despite the long day it was all so worth it. I can’t thank everyone enough for their support, said Mikey Brueford, who first conceived Dive For Darcy.

"Thanks to Krista Radzina from Skydive Buzz for taking all the amazing ground photos and giving her time to present specially made gifts from Darcy & Lizzie.

"Harriet Willmington for all the help leading up to the event. Ralph Mignano from Print Factor, Weston Super-Mare for making and donating the special banner.

"Joe Parsons and Monster Energy for giving the thumbs up to use the brand logo. Emma Roocroft of Merge Decals for designs on the skydiver silhouette and donating her time.

"Steve Brandon for his design input. Jill Smith on behalf of the Darcy Ward Foundation for getting the special one-off t-Shirts printed.

"And finally, Neil Middleditch the Poole Speedway Manager for all the re-tweets and support of this great fundraiser.”

Mikey and The DWF have a number of other persons who have shown an interest in joining the 'Dive for Darcy' and there are no plans to close entries to what is still an ongoing fundraising initiative.
