York Marathon

THREE Running Somewhere Else members were among the 7,000 competitors at this year's very popular York Marathon.

The fairly flat course takes the runners along a scenic route through York's stunning historic sights and along beautiful country lanes.

First home for the club was Tim Hodgetts who finished in 3:27, followed by Dave Whitlow in 3:29.33 and Elaine Chapman 4:07.14.

Chicago Marathon

THERE were fine results further afield from Mark Manley and Sally Jamieson who travelled to compete in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

The course itself is fast and flat, and starts and finishes in Grant Park, with the competitors running through the amazing city, taking in 29 neighbourhoods in front of more than 1.7 million spectators.

First home for the club was Mark Manley in 3:23.12 (PB) followed by Sally in 4:01.24.

Royal Parks Half Marathon

MATT LAMBOURNE took part in Sunday's Royal Parks Half Marathon in London.

The amazing course is 13.1 miles, taking in the capital's landmarks and four of London's eight Royal parks – Hyde Park, Green Park, St James' Park and Kensington Gardens. Matt completed the course in 1:35.30.

Oxford Half Marathon

LIZZIE CLARK competed in this year's Oxford Half Marathon on Sunday. Starting in the city centre the route is another fast, flat course taking in the wonderful sights of Oxford. A great result from Lizzie who finished in 1:53.43 (PB).

Rutherford Appleton running event

ELSPETH MURANO competed in the Rutherford Appleton running event on Sunday morning.

The race took the runners around the Harwell Oxford Science and Innovations campus, including the synchrotron radiation facility. Elspeth competed in the 5k and finished in 43.08.

Swindon – Jonathan Lewis 22.37, Richard Taylor 24.15, Matt Lambourne and Dave Witnall 24.17, Steve Sandercock 24.56, Cat Shelley 25.52 (PB), Ellie Taylor 26.35, Sophie Collins 29.49, Caroline Sandercock (50th parkrun) and Elspeth Murano 42.42.
