Lydiard Youth U14s 1

AVONVALE Utd U14s moved into second place in the league with an ultimately emphatic win over Lydiard.

Vale enjoyed about 85 per cent of possession but it took them 30 minutes to break the deadlock when Adam Harding found the net from a knock down by Freddie Collings.

Eliott Kayani and Harding were involved in the build up to the second goal which was scored just before the break by Collings.

Lydiard continued to battle hard but Harding found the net twice in quick succession to make it 4-0.

The fifth came from an own goal off one of Collings' Freddie's accurate free kicks.

Then Freddie completed his hat-trick as Vale rounded off their scoring.

Lydiard were going to need some luck to pull a goal back, and so it proved as an unfortunate error by Jack Ticehurst gifted them a consolation goal.

MoM: Eliott Kayani.

Wroughton Youth U13s 2

AVONVALE U13s gained a comfortable and deserved victory over Wroughton Youth.

Vale started slowly perhaps slightly unnerved by the physical size and direct approach of Wroughton.

Solid defensive work from Lochlann Anderson, Charlie Berryman-Jenkins, Baily Robinson, Sam Fenwick and 'keeper Inigo Fenwick combated the threat. Fifteen minutes in, however, Wroughton took the lead. The advantage was only brief as in the next attack a ball from Louis Corbett found Ryan Watson to volley home with his left foot.

Suddenly things clicked and Vale’s footballing ability came to the fore. A ball from Watson to Johnny Edwards led to him scoring his first for the club and Vale’s second.

In the next attack the ball came to Cian Phoenix who unleashed a stinging shot and Watson knocked the rebound in for his second. Vale made it 4-1 at half-time through Edwards.

Soon after the break Wroughton struck to give them a lifeline.

Vale continued to perform as a cohesive unit and Phoenix smashed the ball home from the edge of the area to complete the scoring.
