MALMESBURY mum of two Charlene Harvey has won through to the national finals in the Woman’s Physique category of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (UKBFF).

Charlene topped the Midlands qualifier in Birmingham recently and now faces the heat winners from around the UK at the British finals in Nottingham on October 8-9.

Her husband and training partner Chris, who was in the audience, said: “As the competitors walked on stage in Birmingham we could see that the judges had their work cut out as all the women were in great condition.

"After their mandatory poses each competitor was invited back on stage to perform their own individual routine.

"Charlene performed her routine flawlessly, incorporating both grace and style to show off all her muscle tone and hard work.

"Charlene was over the moon when they announced her as the winner and she was presented with a great trophy."

It has been a meteoric rise for Charlene who was persuaded to enter her first female muscle and fitness competition only last year.

A regular gym goer, who has twice run the London Marathon, she has proved a natural at her new sport.

By the end of 2015 she had won two Pro cards for two different federations and claimed the Pure Elite Muscle Model world championship.

She now thinks nothing of hitting the gym two or three times a day and, with the British finals next month, she will bid to lower her body fat content still further to give her muscles even more definition.

Her conditioning has been assisted by NXT Nutrition through their ambassador programme. Charlene was made a member of the programme earlier this year after they spotted her dedication to succeed.
