GFA Minor Cup (N) Round One

The Beeches 13

Uley Reserves 0

THE Beeches took their excellent recent league form in the County Cup this weekend with a 13-0 home victory over Stroud League side Uley Reserves, which included hat-tricks for strikers Alex King and Scott Smith.

The Beeches played fantastic football, pulling their opponents apart early in the match with King opening the scoring.

The Beeches maintained their superiority throughout, continually opening up space for the front men.

King hit a second goal and then Smith added two fantastic goals to his growing tally.

In a flurry of goals before half-time, Beeches added a fifth when Joe Stratford timed his run perfectly to head the ball home.

The sixth goal came from defender Mitchell Stone.

After the interval, Beeches did not take their foot off the pedal.

Adam Brooks scored two quick goals – a sweet half volley from the edge of the box and a near-post flick from Stone's cross.

Stratford soon added his second of the game, using his trademark pace to break down the left hand flank and then slotting the ball under the 'keeper.

Captain Will Power joined in the fun when bringing up double figures.

The two main hit men, King and Smith, then completed their hat-tricks in style with a goal apiece.

Late substitute Dan Warriner finished the scoring, beating a defender for pace on the edge of the box before smashing the ball into the top-left corner.
