Gloucester Two

Kingswood 17

Minchinhampton 25

MINCHINHAMPTON made it two wins out of two with a fine 25-17 victory over Bristol side Kingswood.

Minch fielded a much-changed squad compared to their opening fixture, showing the depth of talent in the club this season.

Minch started brightly with the Richards brothers showing excellent running lines and ball skills to put the visitors 10-0 up after just a few minutes.

Kingswood steadily worked their way into the game and an excellent play inside the Minch 22 reduced the deficit to just three points.

By half-time they had drawn level at 10-10 from a penalty kick.

Kingswood struck first in the second half but Minch soon rallied and, with their forwards well on top, scored a further two tries from No.8 Fraser Smith.

Minch went on to complete a hard-fought but well deserved 25-17 success with the forwards, in particular, putting on an impressive display.

Minch play local rivals Painswick at home on October 1 looking to make it three wins from three.
