WILTSHIRE have home advantage when they bid to retain the English Boys’ County Championship next week (Tuesday-Thursday) at Cumberwell Park Golf Club.
They will represent the South West and their challengers are Northamptonshire (Midlands), Yorkshire (North) and Hertfordshire (South East).
The championship is a round robin competition, with three foursomes each morning and six singles in the afternoon. Wiltshire will begin their defence against Yorkshire.
The Wiltshire team includes four members of last year’s winning side: England U16 international James Cooper (Cumberwell Park), Jake Bolton (Ogbourne Downs), Dom Burgess (Salisbury & South Wilts) and Tom Stagg (Salisbury & South Wilts).
The team is completed by Jamie Cooper (Bowood), Joe Retford (Cumberwell Park) and Oliver Jeans (Wrag Barn).
