Sizzler Yacht Handicap, Kings Stanley, nr Stroud, 10km multi-terrain
IN A quiet week for the Cirencester Athletics and Triathlon Club, James Widdowson and Simon Campbell both enjoyed a hilly handicapped race in Stroud.
RESULTS: 1, James Steel (unattached) 59.45 (actual time 45.31); 19, James Widdowson 1:11.36 (50.23); 31, Simon Campbell 1:21.13 (49.01). 35 finished.
Parkruns
LUKE CAMPBELL won again at Chippenham despite being 15 seconds shy of his PB – and, of course, still a junior.
Ian Barrett ran his first parkrun to finish second in an impressive time of 16.55 (first MV45) at Stonehouse.
RESULTS:
Chippenham Parkrun, 5km trail: 1, Luke Campbell 17.58. 319 finished.
Stonehouse Parkrun, nr Stroud, 5km trail 1, Ben Goddard (unattached) 16.14; 2, Ian Barrett 16.55 – first MV45. 157 finished.
We trust club members are all training on the cliffs of Cornwall or the beaches of Benidorm before a highly competitive autumn – not forgetting our own 10k race in Cirencester Park on September 25.
