County Under 25’s Singles
FAIRFORD'S Tom Luce was knocked out of the Gloucestershire Under-25 Singles Trophy at the semi final stage by Jack Daniels (Bishops Cleeve) at Cheltenham Whaddon.
Luce made a brilliant start to go 10-4 ahead.
Daniels then broke the stranglehold with a four and a three to move into a 11-10 lead.
Upping the pressure with a purple patch Daniels struck back with a single and another three followed by a single and a two to move into an 18-12 lead. He went on to secure a final place by winning 21-13.
Nathan Kitchen (Cheltenham), the reigning champion, reached the final for the fourth consecutive year with a tight 21-18 semi final victory over Cheltenham team-mate Mark Perry whom he defeated in last year’s final.
