Wiltshire gained their first win in the Unicorns County Championship this season when they beat Wales by 70 runs at South Wilts Cricket Club on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.  

After winning the toss, Wiltshire chose to bat and at one time were 10-3 wickets and 50-4.

The recovery was lead by Ashur Morrison (46) assisted by Jake Lintott (45), Tahir Afridi (46) and James Arney (32) and they were all out for 262.

Ben Roberts took 4-62 and Harry Powell 3-39.  

Wales started well and an opening stand of 75 was broken by a run out and Wales collapsed to 105 for 5 wickets by the close of the first day.  

Wiltshire quickly wrapped up the innings on the second morning as Wales were all out for 158.  

Gareth Ansell scored 48.

For Wiltshire James Arney took 4-46 and Joe King 2-23.  

Wiltshire batted again with a lead of 104 and were able to declare on 280 for 7 wickets.

Patrick Grieshaber scored 64, Jake Lintott 92 off 89 balls and Tahir Afridi 71 not out off 61 balls.

Nicholas Davies took 3-61.

This left Wales 21 overs and the whole of the third day to score 385 to win.

They started badly losing 2 wickets in James Arney's first over but recovered to be 121-2 wickets at the close.

The third day saw Greg Holmes (93) and Sean Grifiths (126) take their third wicket partnership to 218 before Griffiths was out.

Wiltshire's spinners then took control and Wales were all out just after lunch for 314.

Jake Lintott took 5-52, Ed Young 2-57 and James Arney 2-80.
