Cirencester Summer Sizzler 10k

CIRENCESTER AC's Summer Sizzler 10k attracted 271 runners to the grounds of Cirencester Park.

The race took in two loops of the park starting and finishing at the Polo Ground, and also taking the runners up the infamous Big Bertha hill twice.

Ten RSE members competed, with John Buck coming home first for the club in a time of 41.51 (third MV50), followed by Jonathan Lewis 46.59, Martin Pitts 47.47, Dave Whitlow 48.48, Steve Sandercock 50.48, Kirsty Pitts 53.14, Mark Manley 53.35, Nadine Brown 54.52, Pauline Tilbury 1.01.07, Jacki Day 1.01.08 and Becky Heal 1.28.48.

Midnight Mountain Marathon

OLLIE HAZEL completed this gruelling race which has an elevation of more than 4,000ft including the ascent of Pen y Fan (2,907ft), the highest peak in Wales. Ollie finished in 05.15.57.

Chippenham Longest Day 10k TWO RSE runners turned out for this Chippenham 10k on Wednesday evening. Well done to Ellie Taylor who achieved another PB finishing in 56.59 with Dave Witnall crossing the line in 42.38.

Cotswold Way Relay

TWO teams of 10 RSE runners competed in this year's Cotswold Way Relay which starts in Chipping Campden early in the morning and finishes at Bath Abbey in the early evening.

More than 90 per cent of the route is off-road, taking in many hills, woodlands, fields and tracks, all offering spectacular views of the countryside around.

Team One comprised: Nick Duncan followed by Amelia Culshaw, Elaine Chapman, Dave Whitlow, Kirsty Pitts, Sharon Smith, Martin Pitts, John Buck, Ben Chapman with Karl Breakspear crossing the finish line.

Team Two was led off by Jacki Day followed by Hazel Bridges, Tracey Edginton, Louise Abbott, Tracey Pitts, Steve Priestnall, Caroline Coates, Jenny Hoffman, Matt Lambourne with Richard Marshall finishing the race.
