Wiltshire lost their second Unicorns County Championship match at Corsham on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday when Cornwall beat them by 4 wickets in a rain affected match.

Having been put into bat on the first day, Wiltshire had reached 222 for 7 wickets when rain brought a premature end to the day's play.

Play could not start until 3pm on the second day  and Wiltshire declared on 276 for 9 wickets.

Jon Sore scored 54 not out and Tahir Afridi 52.

Cornwall then batted and by close of the second day they also declared on the same score of 276 for 9 wickets.

The third day saw Wiltshire start their third innings and had slumped at one time to 78 for 5 wickets before a recovery by Mike Coles (61), Patrick Grieshaber (41) and Tahir Afridi (54 not out) took the total to 244 all out.

This left Cornwall about 55 overs to score 245 to win which they achieved with 8 balls remaining and a total of 248 for 6 wickets.

Matt Robins scored 76 and Greg Smith 66 not out.

At close of play Joe King was awarded his County Cap.

Wadworth man of the match was Tahir Afridi

Wiltshire's captain Michael Coles retired from three day cricket as a result of work and fitness considerations after this match.  

Vice Captain, Ed Young will take over the captaincy for the remainder of the season with Ashur Morrison as Vice Captain.

Wiltshire's next match is a three day Unicorns County Championship match against Devon on Sun/Mon/Tues July 3/4/5 at Sandford Cricket Club starting at 11am each day.
