THE M4 Karting-sponsored Cirencester & District Football League held their Awards Presentation Evening and AGM on Tuesday at the Jubilee Club in Cirencester.

The Division One award as top goalscorer went to Steve Andrews of Poulton, who scored 41 times. Runner-up was another Poulton forward, John Dawson, on 29. Ashton Keynes’ Alex Rudd came third with 27 goals from only 21 matches.

In Division Two, Hatherop’s Steve Crocker netted a massive 72 times from 29 games. Runner-up was The Beeches’ Matt Walters on 43.

Sportsmanship awards, voted for by the referees, went to Oaksey in the top division and new club Sherborne Harriers in Division Two. The best linesmanship award went to Highworth Development.

Six teams are dropping out of the league but Down Ampney FC are entering a team which will essentially be the former Lechlade Reserves side. Wheatsheaf Stratton (ex-Wroughton Res) will also have a team based at the Supermarine complex in Swindon. There will be 10 teams in each division.

League and cup sponsors M4 Karting, CIA and Alexcars are all continuing their support.
