BOWLS: Three rink victories but an overall defeat for Gloucestershire in Glamorgan

GLOUCESTERSHIRE gained three winning rinks but still fell nine shots short in their match against Mid Glamorgan at Mountain Ash Bowls Club.
The rink of Peter Godfrey, Martin Bevan, Tim Webb and John Tombs (all Victory Park) were the biggest winners for the visitors, coming back from 11-6 down to win 23-16.
The rink skipped by Dave Williams (Cam Mills) fought out a terrific tussle with E Lewis before edging the match on the final end 17-16.
The quartet from Barnwood skipped by Mike Manns also had a hard-fought encounter with P Bonnett and needed a three on the final end to win 22-20.
