THE Cooper Car Company will celebrate its 70th anniversary at the Prescott Hill Climb in Gloucestershire on Saturday, July 30.

More than 70 Coopers will congregate at Prescott, many of which will be competing in classes for sports and formula cars, or demonstration runs.

Special guests include John Cooper’s son Michael with the ex-Jackie Stewart Cooper-BMC T72, plus racing legend Barry ‘Whizzo’ Williams, the first driver to win an international rally in a Mini Cooper S – the 1964 Welsh International Rally – in the iconic 120MNP.

The anniversary event will take place almost exactly 70 years to the day when company owner Cooper and his friend Eric Brandon competed with their self-built Cooper Mk1 at Prescott's inaugural post war meeting in 1946.

Coopers were driven by all the great drivers of the day including Brabham, Moss, Hawthorne, Salvadori, McLaren, Surtees, Hopkirk and Stewart.

Ticket prices start at just £12 advance. On the gate prices £15. Please visit: www.prescott-hillclimb.com.
