Cricklade 317-3 Avening & Cherington 102-7
CRICKLADE continued their barnstorming start to the 2016 CDCA League Division One campaign with a huge 215-run home win over Avening & Cherington.
The league leaders won the toss and decided to bat on an excellent wicket.
Openers Danny Lloyd (47) and Paul Paginton (44) got the innings off to a fast start and were followed by another display of power hitting by Tom Davies (129no), who has now scored more than 300 league runs without being dismissed.
Rapid contributions from Rhys Mills (40) and Darren Fisher (43no) led to a massive total of 317-3 off Cricklade’s 40 overs.
Chasing down such a target was always likely to be a difficult ask and, in response, Avening & Cherington limped to 102-7 wickets off their 40 overs, with only opener Darren Pitcher (46) and Jay Richings (29) mustering double figures.
All seven Cricklade bowlers produced good spells, with Angelo Rigali (2-12) and Tom Davies (2-1) picking up late wickets.
