CIRENCESTER Town are to host Scottish Premier side Partick Thistle in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday, June 29 with a 7.30pm kick off.

Partick Thistle finished ninth behind fellow Glasgow club Celtic in the 2015/16 season.

The Jags played Vanarama National side Eastleigh in a warm-up match before last season’s campaign and are also believed to be playing Bath City in their mini West Country tour this summer.

Over the Christmas period former Knight Rider and Baywatch star David Hasselhoff declared his love for “underdogs” Thistle – although he was appearing in a Glasgow panto at the time.

Last year it was rumoured The Hoff was looking for a Cotswold base for himself and his Welsh girlfriend Hayley Roberts. Perhaps he can combine some house hunting with taking in the pre-season friendly at the Corinium Stadium.

Only this week Hasselhoff posted the following message on his Instagram account: ‘When all is lost NEVER FEAR THE HOFF AND PARTICK THISTLE ARE HERE!!’

Partick Thistle also number Scottish actor Robert Carlyle among their celebrity fans.

Cirencester Town’s other confirmed friendly this summer is with Cheltenham Town, newly promoted back to the Football League.

Gary Johnson's men will visit for their showpiece friendly on Saturday, July 11 (3pm kick off).

Cirencester are also hoping to organise warm-up games with Bristol Rovers, Forest Green Rovers and Gloucester City.

Off the field, Cirencester Town are shortly expected to take possession of three first team kits and training strips from their new supplier JOMA.

Meanwhile, Town midlfielder Aidan Bennett and his partner Megan have had their first child, a baby girl – Paisley Rae Bennett.
