Worcester Half-Marathon.

CIRENCESTER’S best runner Dave Bell chalked up another victory in Sunday’s Worcester Half-Marathon.

He dominated the race over country lanes east of the city to win by more than five minutes.

As he was unchallenged for most of the race he was not pressured into recording a fast time but was well satisfied with the win in 1hr 13min 17sec.

Also competing for Cirencester was Joyce Matthews, representing the club for the first time in a half-marathon. She did very well to finish 164th out of over 700 finishers in a time of 1:47.58.

Cheltenham Parkrun.

THERE was further success for the club in the latest Cheltenham Parkrun.

Both Ruth Fulford and Robin Lloyd won their age categories and together with Denise Ewbank the trio finished within a minute of each other.

Leading them in was Ruth (first FV65) in 28.17, followed 10 seconds later by Denise and then Robin (first MV70) in 29.04.

Stockport Parkrun

FURTHER afield Geoff Wells upheld club honour by finishing 48th in the Stockport Parkrun in 23.31.

Looking ahead the next event to be organised by Cirencester AC is the Summer Sizzler 10k on Monday, June 20 over the traffic-free roads within Cirencester Park.

There is also a 3k race for juniors starting at 7pm followed by the 10k at 7.30pm.
