Wiltshire CCL Division Two
Swindon United Churches; Beehive (Southwick) 70-2
Match abandoned
ONLY 25 overs of play was possible due to wet weather at Sevenhampton on Saturday, as Swindon United Churches and Beehive (Southwick) had to eventually settle for an abandonment and eight points each.
Stand-in Churches captain Chris Gilchrist had started the day well by winning the toss and electing to bowl first on an understandably wet wicket.
Chris Spackman and Jimmy Mann opened the bowling for the hosts and off-spinner Mann quickly removed Reeves for four.
Playing in his first game for several years due to injury, Alan Boivin (1-8) then threatened to make things interesting when he bowled Salmades for five.
In the face of further economical bowling from Daniel Hunt and Ravi Dhayalan, Harber (27no) and Spong (25no) batted sensibly for Beehive to snuff out any danger of a collapse.
The umpires and captains finally shook hands with Beehive on a score of 70-2 from 25 overs.
The abandonment left Churches in sixth position in Wiltshire League Division Two and Beehive (Southwick) in ninth.
