Poulton 3
Bibury Res 3
A LAST-MINUTE goal from John Dawson rescued a point for Poulton in a six-goal thriller with Bibury Reserves.
Dawson’s late strike meant he was hero rather than villain, having blazed a penalty over the bar early in the first half. The let off seemed to spur Bibury into life with Poulton struggling to contain the away side.
There’s no doubt Bibury would have won by a margin were it not for a fine display by Poulton goalkeeper Callum Jack. Bibury led at half time by virtue of a Ryan Bowen goal after 30 minutes, with Dawson levelling with his first goal, ten minutes after the break.
Tom Montgomery restored Bibury’s lead five minutes later but they were pegged back just two minutes later after a strike from Dan Read.
Montgomery got his second goal midway through the half and Poulton looked to be facing a defeat before Dawson’s late strike.
