LOCAL knowledge proved key as Minchinhampton's mixed team used home advantage to beat their counterparts from Cirencester. But the visitors did have their moments.
Second out were David Soar and Barbara Johnson who managed a welcome half. The really good results for Cirencester GC came right at the end when Patrick and Christine Moylan had a super 3&2 win over their opponents, while the stalwart pairing of Andrew & Frieda Bacon came in at the end with a win of 5&4.
This was the fourth win in succession for Andrew & Frieda, and it is believed to be the first time this feat has been achieved by a Cirencester couple in mixed matches.
The next match takes place at Stinchcombe on May 29.
