CIRENCESTER Swimming Club took a team of younger swimmers to the Junior Trophy Gala event held by Bristol Penguin Olympic Swimming Club on Saturday, May 7.
Competing against Bristol's top clubs, Cirencester secured a superb second place behind the Bristol Penguins 'A' team in a tightly fought and very exciting gala.
FINAL RESULTS: 1, Bristol Penguins A team 276pts; 2, Cirencester 264; 3, Bristol Penguins B team 247; 4, Burnham-on-Sea 224; 5, Bristol Henleaze 212; 6, Bristol Central 194; 7, Lydney 184; 8, Bristol North 140.
The swimmers came home with a tally of 25 personal best times. Top paddler award went to U11 swimmer Jack Powell for his super attitude and fantastic PB in his 50m backstroke.
Special mention goes to George Pearson, the youngest Cirencester competitor, who managed two fantastic individual swims to win in the U9s breaststroke and U9s front crawl.
