Stratton Youth Round-Up
Stratton Youth U18s 1 Wroughton U18s 2
STRATTON U18s made a real fist of taking on second-placed Wroughton but the visitors' extra bit of quality got them through.
Wroughton went 1-0 up after 20 minutes due to some sloppy defending.
Five minutes before half-time it was 2-0 as a simple free kick was easily converted.
Ben Alexander, back in goal after 'retiring' two months ago, kept Stratton in the match with a string of fine saves.
The second half started with a different Stratton formation and the impact was immediate. Some great team play and intricate passing was finished off with a neat finish by Dan James.
Stratton had their chances to level the match but Wroughton kept calm and saw the game out.
MoM: Alfie Smith.
Stratton U14s 6 Northside Athletic U16s 4
THE U14s finished their season at Baunton Lane in some style.
Following a poor start to the season, the end-of-season form has been incredible and now they can't wait for next season to start. Kieran Collingwood capped a MoM performance with two goals, while Alfie Cook, Matthew Harrison, Daniel Hemmings and Bailey also scored.
