JAMES Mortimer-Jones walked off with two of the first XI player awards at the Cirencester Town FC presentation evening on Sunday.
Mortimer-Jones, affectionately known as ‘Jonah’, made his 250th appearance for the club this season and collected both the Players’ Player award, voted for by his team-mates, and the season-long Four Pillars-sponsored award for gaining the most man of the match prizes.
Club captain Matt Liddiard, who rejoined Cirencester Town this season, was voted Supporters’ Player of the Year.
Boss Brian Hughes said: “Lidds’ energy and enthusiasm is second to none and he is the sort of player you build the team around.”
Hughes’ Manager’s Award went to young winger Ollie Knight.
“At the start of the season people were saying that Ollie was in the team only because his dad (Keith) is on the coaching staff.
“But he has earned the respect of all the players and endeared himself to everyone.”
The Dick Reed Memorial Trophy given to a supporter went to Mike Mabbett.
Development Team – Players’ Player: Danny Gudger; Manager’s Player: Sam Farr.
Ladies’ Team – Manager’s Player: Louise Corcoran; Players’ Player: Shannel Baldwin; Top Goalscorer: Katrina Fisher.
