JORDAN SMITH, a 23-year-old golfer from Calne, gained his maiden Challenge Tour victory when winning the Red Sea Egyptian Challenge.

Smith finished on 18 under par, two shots ahead of his closest rival.

Jordan plays out of the Bowood Hotel Spa & Golf Resort in Wiltshire.

The Red Sea Egyptian Challenge was the second tournament on the 2016 European Challenge Tour and was held at the Sokhna Golf Club, on the western shore of the Red Sea's Gulf of Suez.

Fellow Wiltshire player Ben Stow, from East Knoyle, near Warminster, also impressed in Egypt as he finished joint-fifth on 15 under-par.
